Just kidding. Making you ask the questions I'm manipulating you into asking with the storytelling makes me all fuzzy inside and laugh evilly when I don't tell you.

I think maybe 3 or 4 people actually put two and two together on their own. In cases like that, where the person approaches me quietly and privately, I like to reward them for their ingenuity and confirm little details like that. It's so satisfying when you drop in just enough clues that people can figure it out on their own.
Please, if one of those people was you, identify yourself in the comments! You are the official Gumshoes now. I'll be casting glances at you occasionally throughout the story to see if you pick up on anything else.

Brent's mom and dad met and lived together under very unremarkable conditions - there was no life or death situation involved at any point - but they were very good for each other and provided support that they other never had before. It was very sweet and romantic and one day I might write a comic about it. (See the Patreon page for more information).

So, onto the elephant in the room: this page is two days late and it's only because I was stupid and didn't have the foresight to queue it up in the system before I went on a huge trip. I assumed I could update the website from my phone, but then Monday came and I was completely unable to. This is my first day back at my desk and I'm very sorry to have thrown off your rhythm. I promise I'll do everything I can to keep it from happening again!

I think next week I'll have some major news and general life updates for you. It'll be a big post with a lot of boring real life stuff that you probably won't be interested in, but I'd like to keep you in the know about stuff that could potentially affect the comic. Just so you're not blindsided like this again.

Anyway, Happy Wednesday! I hope y'all are having a good week!

I thought his teeth reminded me of Orrig's! Ehee, I'm glad that's what it was, that's actually pretty darn cool. Your comic is so lovely, i don't think anyone minds waiting a few days extra for updates, even for silly little reasons.. accidents happen~
Looking forwards to next week, keep up the great work, friend

It's like people here are like dogs. So many shapes, sizes and colours but still the same species! Ehe-ehe.

I can't take any credit for knowing since I knew back when you first introduced this guy on Deviantart. I did think he was only a 10th Orc, though; but it only makes sense that there'd be a tweak or two since then! Also I guess super pointy ears are so common with all of the elf-types running around, since apparently that wasn't a giveaway that he's not 100% human? But to be fair...oh wait spoilers nevermindsorry. *chalks over rest of comment so the other readers can't see* Having advance knowledge is tricky XD;

Dang, this page looks really pretty. My only recommendation would be to make the shadows less sharp; it feels just slightly like they have a spotlight on them. But the rest of it's gorgeous. And Brent is being CIVIL. It's a miracle~

@Riverfox237: Well, the reason I decided to do the shadows on the wall that way is because they're about just as sharp back on Page 6 when the scene is established and the group is shown as sitting pretty much almost against the wall of the tavern/inn. The pages between then and now either had the panels angled so that the shadows wouldn't be visible, or I felt that putting the shadows in would actually detract from the composition of the panel. Since these pages are a lot of dialogue exchanges, I felt it would be a good point to reinsert a reminder of the proximity of the characters to that closest wall behind them.

I just found this webcomic and read through it; OMG it is awesome! I realy like the character design especialy.

I also realy like the sense all the characters have of... being in there world? Not sure if that makes sense but i like it.

It was instantly obvious when Orrig grabbed his face and said "Let me see." Their ears were a dead giveaway as they were face to face (Brent's from a previous frame) and then back tracking to the teeth and eye changes, I thought at the time he might be related to Orrig himself.

@Yoko: Okay, that makes sense. It certainly wasn't a big problem by any means, just something I noticed that didn't make sense to me. Your coloring overall looks fantastic.
